Luiz Esteves (1954-2023) was a Brazilian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who played keyboards, bass, and guitar.

He started his career in Patos de Minas, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

As a teenager, Luiz was awarded the best male performance by a singer at the Music Student's Festival of Patos de Minas. He was then invited to join the band "Os Asteróides".

Luiz Esteves was also the lead singer for such local bands as "Trapps" and "Magos do Sol". 

In 2000, Luiz Esteves founded Leyline with his son Gabriel Esteves.

Apart his musical work with Leyline, Luiz has his solo musical project and has released  14 albums, three singles and one EP.
